The decor, food, service and thirst-inducing cocktails at this beautifully designed restaurant
overlooking Jalan Laksmana has been enticing our tastebuds on every return visit to the Island.
In 2014 we had a 10 month stint living out on the Bukit Peninsula – Cafe Bali was our go-to after the long motorbike ride to town, for a refreshing
Margarita drink, tranquil vibes and comfy cool spot to let those jelly limbs revive after the long bumpy ride.
Cafe Bali is a stylish white clapboard building of Dutch and French design, featuring giant chandeliers, pretty table tops, comfy sofas and classic bistro chairs to make you almost forget you were on a tropical Island.
With so many quality restaurants to dine at in Bali, you are hard pressed to nail down a favourite.
Why is it that Cafe Bali keeps luring us back?
I’d have to say ambience is number one, it just injects you with those Island holiday-feels.
Cosy and comfy with its many couches, bohemian nooks, and a splash pool featuring a flower-lei’d Ganesh.
It never disappoints with its light and tasty food, and sweet natured wait-staff.
We take our tastebuds for a global wander.
Beginning in Mexico, we start with the Quesadilla of Chicken, Avocado, diced Tomato and Jalapeño’s.
Then the all elusive origins of Ceviche; some say Spain, some Peru, maybe Tahitian… whichever, Cafe Bali really nail their Mahi Mahi version!
And the Raw Section of Carparccio of either Tuna or Mahi Mahi, its all so good!
Even the finer details of pip prevention with the muslin wrapped lime wedges – the Balinese really take pride with their presentation.
Cafe Bali is open early in the morning and is a tranquil way to start the day relaxing over breakfast and coffee on the front balcony.
[There are better coffee’s to be had along the strip, but this front deck is always an enticing place to sit and catch up on your Insta-feed, yes they have wifi!]
